Default What is your MPG on 883 Iron?

My dad is complaining that his 2011 883 Iron Sportster does get about 33-35 MPG on highway. Is that normal MPG for that 883?

What is yours avg mile per gallons?

Thanks

Wife has a 2011 Iron with stage 1 and gets at worst, usually between 50-57 mpg.

I was actually thinking about starting a thread on this very topic. I've got a 2015 Iron 883 that is working its way through the break in mileage. Seems like I'm getting around 42 MPG. I figure the low number is due to me being about 250 lbs and not having the most aerodynamic silhouette on the planet.

I have just under 600 miles on mine and get 45 mpg on the freeway at around 70. My last sportster 48 mph didn't improve till around 2000 miles.

I had wondered if engine break in effected mileage at all. That's good info thank you.

14000+ miles on my '13 Iron 883, I get about 50 mpgs on average. I have noticed that if you don't lug it your gas mileage is much much better. Higher RPMs means better gas mileage for me!

Converting my imperial mpg to US looks like i'm getting 48mpg. Been riding it real gentle in traffic though. I expect it to drop a bit now i'm getting used to it...

I tend to get between 50 and 55 depending on how I ride it. This is also with stage one and 3000 miles.
