Thanks for all the input everyone. I think I'm going to pull my headlight off and check for extra wire then maybe check under the tank. I'd like to know what I need to order so I can get it all at once!
I'm just going to do external wiring too and I HOPE the brake cable is long enough!!

If in doubt you can buy a kit with the wires and switches for about $39 - $59 and they come with new terminal end and correct color coding. Install cut to a suitable length crimp new end that fit directly int the stock terminal blocks, whether in the headlight bucket or under the tanks.

There are other options but it's not that big of a deal.
If needed solder and shrink wrap don't use crimps. Get a kit long enough to go completely through the bars and to the terminal block, the trim (leave a little slack) and put the end into the original terminal block.
There are YOUTUBE videos on terminal pin removal and replacement, as well as most things you may want to do.
Do it right and you'll only need to do it once.
