It's hot here in Denmark, for a change.

These past three days, I have experienced sitting at a stop light at idle and the engine simply stopping.

Nothing dramatic. Just turning off as if I pushed the off button or pushed the side stand down.

When I turn it on, it runs just as it should. No problem starting again or running.

It happens rarely. Once a day these past three days. I have been riding about 3 hrs each day.

My first thought was that it behaves like a new car, turning off when it is hot to keep it from sitting and idling. But I doubt that a 2015 sportster Iron would be that sophisticated.

Do any of you have suggestions for what this may be?

Not normal. At least not on my 2014 48. Temps get in the high 90's F here with very high humidity. I hit stop and go traffic a lot. Have you run the diagnostics to see if you are getting a code? Check that first. New bike, I would ask the dealership to look at it.

 

That's odd and since it's a 2015 take it to the dealer. It's still under warranty, then again I don't know how the HD warranty works in Denmark. In the U.S. the warranty period is two years from the date of original purchase.

 

Thanks for your input. I'll take it to the dealer. We've got 2 yrs warranty like you have in the states.

 

mine has no problem idling when hot, and i live in aarhus so same temp. as you.
maybe your problem is the kickstand thing???????? but i am mostly i not in gear at the stop lights, i just put it in first when green
