Default Factory wire connectors

I hope this isn't a repost, but for all you guys that have changed your handlebars out and routed your wiring through the bars; what is the easiest way to do this? I assume it would be to break down the factory wire connectors, run the wires, then replace them into the connectors. My problem is how to break down these connectors, mine do not seem to want to release the wires.

Any help, comments, or suggestions?

this is what it looks like inside all of them - same basic idea

remove all the waterproofing - wire holders - and use the screwdriver/jewler or eyeglass one - to lift the tang up as u pull back on the wire , many have used paper clips but i find they are not sturdy enough for me - hell you could even use a dental pick .
ps --- note the location of the wires in the connectors - get pix of them so u know which way they plug back in ..

You sir, are my hero. Thank you very much, I my grandpa told me that they should be like that but I wanted to be sure and was wondering of a method to release the 'barb' as he called it holding the wires in.
