Okay, my (incomplete) set of forward controls for a 2014 Iron arrived today. Once I realsied they weren't actually for my 2013 model I wasn't too concerned, as even used they fetch really good money. So if I ebay them I should get enough to make a brand new set of correct ones viable.

Anyway, I've been looking at them. Holding the gear lever assembly up it looks like it would fit as it is no problem? I'm waiting on the gear lever part and will then fit it to see if it does indeed work?

If that is the case then I just need to sort out the brake assembly. The clevis is one of the parts missing and I was hoping my one from the mids would fit. I did some quick measurements and the frame mount is a different thickness where the brake lever and clevis go together.

Also the brake rod between pedal and master cylinder pivot point is far too short. I seem to recall the master cylinder set up is different on later models?

So if anyone with an up to 2013 with forwards could take some photos and measurements of the brake assembly I'd be very grateful as that way I can determine which way to go forward with this (pun intended ).

I'd be glad to assist Mr T but on my bike I don't think they will be any different to the ones you have bought ....

Thanks anyway mate, but yes it needs to be from a 2013 or earlier.

Actually, if you wouldn't mind, I could do with seeing a picture of each side so I can see how close the mounts are to the engine. That was I can see if they haven't changed the mounting points etc. Spending each lunch hour walking round London looking for an Iron/48 with forward controls is proving fruitless lol!

I did a sort of dry fit and the gear side will go straight on.

On the brake side I bought a (wrong sized) brake rod with the right eyelet things, so i can just make up a correct length rod and cut a thread into each end. Then I think I need the frame mount and a clevis pin and it should go on...
