Smile Sportster 2009 XL Custom Phone charging

So I have a 2009 sportster custom and i was looking for a way to charge my phone while riding. What do u guys think is the best way to do that? I was thinking of getting the 12v output and connecting it to the battery directly but a friend told me harley sells a port with a pin connector which connects directly to bike and is safer and more reliable. Have u guys any ideas what part could that be and has any of you used it? Any solutions would be welcome Thanks!

your friend is an idiot.

i used this and hid it under my handlebars, you cant see it unless you are looking for it. it's not visible in the sig but it's there on the left side.

What cvaria said. I bought a USB charger with 2 ports which directly connects to battery. Put it on the handlebars, added a switch hide close to battery cover and done! Now I can charge 2 devices if I need and turn off the charger on the go without having to disconnect when the phone is fully charged.

I used what you are looking into. The usb mounts on my bars and attached right to the battery. I have a Ram mount with the X-Grip that holds my phone so I can use the GPS on it works great.
