Default Dart Flyscreen

My new Dart Flyscreen arrived yesterday. It took exactly seven days to ship from the UK to my home in Canada, as promised. (Dart ships via International Air Mail to anywhere in the world, with shipping included in the purchase price. Cost to me was US$124.95.) The flyscreen came very nicely boxed and packaged - screen, brackets, screws and grommets, plus instruction sheet. All are very high quality.

Installation took all of 10 minutes. No hassles at all. The result looks very good. It's clean and elegant-looking, I think, and finishes off the look of the front end of the bike very nicely.

Here's a view from the side:

From a little further back:

And from the cockpit:

This morning, I was able to get out for a short test ride. The flyscreen performed as promised, virtually eliminating upper body buffeting at 80 kph (50 mph) and up speeds. Interestingly, the most noticeable effect was much reduced strain on my neck, even though there was still wind on my face.

I'm impressed with every aspect of this purchase, from ordering the unit online to delivery, from the quality of the screen to its performance. While it's not a fairing, it definitely does the intended job, and does it extremely well. Highly recommended!

I hope to get the Dart-equipped Iron out soon for a much longer ride, and to test it at freeway speeds. I think it's going to work out well.

(I suppose I should also update my sig photo... )

I like the look of that. Be interested to hear how you get on with it. I'm from the UK and have never heard of them!

I'll update after doing some longer, faster rides. In the meantime, do check out the Dart website (http://www.dartflyscreens.com/). The testimonials posted are very telling.

Actually, that's very cool looking. Nice find.
I've seen similar looking ones on NHRA Pro Stock drag bikes and wondered who made them.

Had I seen one of these before I saw the Memphis Shield ones, I would likely have gone with this. I like the minimal look of these!

Thanks for the kind words.

National Cycle is one of a number of manufacturers who make a flyscreen. It's not as clean-looking a design, though, to me.

The Memphis Del Rey is similar. But, from what I can see from their website, it looks a little bigger than the Dart. But it comes in a choice of colours!

I'm glad to have been of help. If you do get one, be sure to post a report and pics!

I went with the dark tint. Figured it would go well with the Iron's colour scheme (black frame, brilliant silver tank and fenders).

There's a midnight tint and was curious to how dark it is. Do you find yourself needing to look through it???
