Default Removal of head light visor

I've got a 2014 Sportster 1200C.

I really don't like the headlight visor. I didn't like it in the showroom and it hasn't grown on me.

Taking it off impacts nothing of importance, maybe some wires that are organized underneath it. It isn't connected to the speedometer or anything else but removed you can tell something is missing.

Any idea what I do if I want to get rid of it, what bar or replacement part I put in it's place?

Yeah, I'm new to this.

It's funny how some people like it and some people don't. I had an '01 XLH with one. At first, I was dubious about it, but it kind of grew on me. Then I got an '07 Custom without one. If I had the opportunity, I would add one because I just don't like the look of the bare headlamp bucket.

If you have a round cap on the visor, then the headlight is bolted to the visor and the visor is bolted to the fork. I replaced my headlight and here is how it looked without the visor....ugly exposed wires and the visor keeps the wires secured and in place. I reinstalled the visor and here is how it looked with the visor about the same angle.
Hope that helps. Not sure about your year bike but for mine, if you remove the visor, you also remove the headlight

I'm not sure about yours, but mine holds my headlight on. I hated it as well, so I covered it up with one of those little cafe racer cowls. You can get them on ebay for like 30 bucks.

The cafe cowl is realy cool. Did the clutch cable scrap the side of it though?

Mine is not connected to the headlight. It can come off with a couple of bolts. The biggest complication is wires that it hides. That being said, I kind of want to keep it clean and bare as much as possible so I was hoping to do it without any farings or stuff. I know the 48's don't have one. I guess I want more that look?

The 3 items on my bike I did not like are 1. Visor 2. A/C 3. Horn monstrosity. I think a Harley engine is a piece of art and Harley tries their best to hide it. I took a hack saw to my visor a

file and black paint and made this.

Yeah it does, I could shorten it up and I think it would solve the problem, but I don't know if I'm going to change the bars or not. It doesn't seem to be wearing on the cable at all though.

Here's a bracket I just found

That looks really good!!!!

Funny that you don't like 3 of the most characteristic parts of all Sportsters, going all the way back to 1957.

OP: Your visor looks very elongated. Is that stock, or an aftermarket? Looks much larger than mine on my '91. Is it a chrome cover??
