Hey Guys,

I am experiencing an issue with my 2008 Harley Sportster Nightster (fuel injected) which I hope some of you have experienced or could help me figure out what to look for.

I took a ride yesterday and the bike ran fine. I stopped to fill the tank up and rode another 10-15 minutes. As soon as I parked, the bike began to idle high. I shut it off and came back another few hours later to ride home. Bike fired up but still idled high right away. I attempted to pull away but the bike barely puttered on and finally stalled after 50 ft. After that the bike would crank over but wouldnt start. I trailered it home and charged the battery. I was able to get the bike to turn over but it still idles high and sounds as if it still stall when you give it some throttle.

I have done basic stuff such as checking the fuses, the spark plugs and other things but havent found an answer. Any ideas of what may be wrong are appreciated, thanks!

 

Water in the gas from that last fill-up? Siphon out into a container to check. Refill with fresh.

 

Make sure that the fuel doesn't smell like diesel
