Default Pricing Question

Come spring, I think I'm going to be selling the old girl. sad, I know... but pending a military transfer to some place with lots of snow, it'd be on life support (trickle charger) most of the time... and we all know that's no way to live.

So I wanted to get some opinions. It's basically all stock, which could be desirable... personalization gets dangerous if the buyer doesn't share your taste.

So here we go...

It's a 98 sportster. sinister blue, light scuffs here and there.
brand new tires... not even 100 miles on them.
new intake manifold seals (I get that this is basic maintenance and doesn't add value)
new battery
new speed sensor
LaPera solo saddle
new ignition module
Screamin Eagle ignition coil
new plugs and wires.
new rubbers where appropriate
fresh oil and primary fluid change
fresh carb clean
clean title
blacked out rims/lower forks/triple trees/air cleaner

I'd also be selling the armored mesh riding jacket, helmet, 2-up seat, riding gloves and some spare parts I have (drag bar and buck horns, original working stock ignition coil)

The bike only has 9,050 miles on it. rides great. Does $3500 sound like WAY too much, or does the low mileage on it make $3500 seem fair.

If it helps, I'm in Savannah, GA between two different Army bases... I feel like someone would buy it at that price... lots of time per year for riding, it's a HD Sportster... which I feel is a desirable model.

Just want some input. Thanks guys/gals.

Kelly Blue book will give you a good idea of what you could get. I'd check that price out first and go from there man

I did... I got this:

Your Motorcycle Value

Value Another Motorcycle
1998 Harley-Davidson XL Sportster 883 Hugger
Excellent Condition$3,150
when purchasing from a dealer

I am thinking that even with the extra seat and bars... $3000 is probably the most I would get for it.

I think 3k sounds like a fair price, there are a lot of sporters out there on the market because usually people will ride them and try and trade them in with low miles for something bigger. Good luck!
