Default How much does it cost to install 10in Aped Z bars on stock 2009 Nightster

Just bought myself some Licks 10in Aped Z bars and want to know what to expect to pay for the install. I plan on doing external wiring but will need longer cables for the new bars. Thanks for the help

I don't know what that would cost you, but. Why don't you check YouTube for videos first to see if you can do the install yourself. Never pay a dealer if you can do something on your own.

$0 if you are doing it yourself. Your cables etc would be fine for 10" mini-apes.

If you don't have the shop manual for your bike, get one. Also, don't ever mess with wires without pulling the main fuse first.

I installed the 8" Licks Z bars on my 48 and the install was a piece of cake. I did purchase a 4" longer brake cable from Magnum Shielding ($80.00) because I don't like the stretched out brake cable look. All other cables and wires worked out fine.

Realdeal176 you wouldn't happen to have a video or written walk through on how to do it? Also I don't have much experience with bike work only thing I've ever done is replace battery. But I'm willing to do it myself and love to learn new things.

To give you an idea of how much it would cost to have the dealer install them, this is a quote I got from my local dealer.

Diamond-Black clutch cable: $114.95
Diamond-Black throttle/idle cables: $154.95
Diamond-Black non-abs lower brake line: $69.95
Diamond-Black non-abs upper brake line: $69.95
10" switch wire extensions: $30.25
HD chizeled handlebar satin black: $299.95
Silencer grips: 84.95

Labor: $500.00

Total: $1324.95 before tax

You might want to find a 3rd party to do it or learn to do it yourself.

Sorry no pictures or video I just dug right in. I did have a second set of hands during the install which really helped out.

Whoa!!! These are some serious dollars dude! It makes me feel slightly proud that I did it myself. Learned the process and saved cash. Win-win!

No doubt. That's why I found someone else to do it for me. I didn't need half of the cables the dealer said I would have to buy. I'd learn the process, but I'm too scared I'll screw something up messing with all those cables.
