Even with stock pipes, your Harley will "rumble" more than most other makes. Probably have more low and mid range power, too. My '04 1200 had drag pipes when I bought it, got a pair of Nightster (slash cut design) mufflers here on the forum, lot of different models are interchangeable, but years aren't; they changed in '04, don't know if they've changed again since.

 

Yes, they did in 2014, the cross connection between the two exhaust happens now in the collectors, not on the mufflers.

 

I don't care for loud pipes either.

I bought a set of Rush slip ons for my '07 1200C. They stayed on for three days before I put the OEM pipes back on.
