Default The different styles of riders: which one are you?

So educate me on the style of rider you are and how you got to be that way.

I prefer the low profile drag bar style. That being said, I've been passed recently by a lot of riders who have really narrow but tall bikes and really narrow handlebars. They look like a Bunny rabbit coming up from behind. What style it that called? And how on earth can people ride like that?

The other style is with arms and legs fully extended. Arms way above the head spread eagle. They look like a big "X" coming at you from behind. What style it that?

I know terms like Bagger, Bobber and choppers for bike styles. What are some other styles and terms?

Not sure what 'style', but I ride with mid controls and stock bars. Feels more in control on the twisties here in the hills. Thinking on making some forward pegs for stretching out occasionally on highways.

After a lifetime on cafe and sport bikes I can safely say I'll never ride a bike again without forward controls! Love them.. Stock bars for now on my 48 but planning on some biltwell zed bars pushed just a little forward.. Love being stretched out.. I have just as much control as mid controls..

The first style is what I would call a lane splitter. It's more or less of a Cali thing because of the laws that allow lane splitting. The other one is guys that have Ape hangers? Pretty badass look if done right, but that could be called a bobber style I suppose.

I myself am the drag bar style. It comes from my youth of watching American Chopper or Bike Shows on the discovery channel. I always loved the low, slammed, stretched out riding style. In my opinion, there is no other way to feel or look as awesome on the road. Just depends.

Other guys could give a damn about any of that and go for what's comfortable haha. Depends on the person.

It amazes me how many preferences their are. But it comes from somewhere. No body just wakes up and decides they want apes that are a foot above their head. Or maybe they do? That said, I aporeciate ALL styles of riders and their bikes.

i have the mini apes and forward controls because I like the relaxed riding style, more laid back and easier on my bottom. my buddy that rides with me has the identical bike but drag bars and mids, he loves it because he feels more up right and balanced.
both of our bikes started out the same and we just kept modifying them to fit our comfort level.
