That ebay one is an interesting design. Looks like 205 of them have been sold already by that vendor. I have never seen one and curious also if anyone here has used it.

I used something like one shown on the link below for sometime and it worked fine. You just set it with your index finger where you want it. Just push the throttle forward to release.

Throttle Mate - $16.95

Cruise Mate - $40.00+

Some people don't get enough lever "throw" with the Throttle Mate to both fully release and firmly hold the throttle because the lever travel is limited by the throttle cables. The Cruise Mate re-threads the friction screw hole to a courser thread which gives the friction lock more travel between the On/Off positions.

i really do not like this type. it seems to me to be to much fumbling. long a go i had thumb operated one on a jap bike. it worked flawlessly and was very intuitive and there was no fumbling or really having to think about engaging or disengaging it....

I have the Throttle Mate, but it took some messing with to get it where the lever would both hold and release the throttle given the limited movement caused by the throttle cables.

A friend of mine, following my experiences with the Throttle Mate, chose the Cruise Mate. It's more difficult to install, but it works much better.

If I had it to do over, I'd go with the Cruise Mate.

I just put the Cruise mate on my RK, like it enough the wife wants one for hers. Real simple to install and works like a charm.
