Hypercharger question

Hypercharger question
I just bought a 04 1200s with a hypercharger. I don't really like the look. PO says carb is jetted for the hypercharger and screaming eagle slip ons. Can I change to stock filter w/ K&N without rejetting? Can I go with Screaming Eagle stage 1 air filter set up? Which would be best? I don't want to spend the money to dyno and rejet. Figure I can sell the hypercharger for what a stock looking setup would cost.

I would not go back to a stock A/F can, but there are plenty of reasonably priced stage 1 filter assemblies available. The SE stage 1 filter is OK, but I wouldn't spend that kind of money for a plastic air cleaner.
If you like the look if the stock "ham can" filter, you could use something like this Impact filter from Hammer Performance, it's accepts the stock ham can cover and is made from billet aluminum.
And yea, the Hypercharger is junk IMO. I'd get rid of it also.

Yeah dump the hypercharger and forget about the overpriced plastic SE one too.
As charley says the hammer is a good choice, basically the same as my Hurricane Flow, or DK has some nice filters that actually improve air flow. Make sure you by-pass the crankcase breathers while your at it. All of the above should be good with the jetting you already have.
