Hi I am at a loss with my TSM for '06 883 sporty. The TSSM (68922-00D) went bad, I am fairly sure. The security was disabled. Replaced it with a used TSM (68920-01D). The bike starts, and dies immediately. I assumed that that meant I would need to "reset" the TSM or possibly "marry" it to the ECM.

I cannot find any resetting or marrying information anywhere. Does anyone know the procedure or have any other suggestions?

Important to note: Prior to changing the TSM/TSSM, Turn signals, horn, odometer, speedo did not work. the red key (security) light was always on. Bike started and ran fine, however.

post TSM swap: same symptoms on the speedo, odometer, and signals. Red key light never on.

but in a non-harley service manual, says the tsm and tssm are not interchangeable...not sure how to interpret that...

Thank you that is very useful. However on step 3 it states "Verify Check Engine Lamp and Security Lamp illuminate and then turn off."

Neither of them turn on at all. I don't know how to interpret that and I cannot receive any Diagnostic codes either.

 

Did you do this from item #1?

Perform all steps under 3.3 TSM/TSSM VEHICLE DELIVERY/SETUP.

 

put the old tssm, and see if the bike starts, like it did before the swap...
then try to do the procedure to retrieve dtc...
