road king: careful what you ask for. my dyna is all engine too. the sportster is more fun, but the dyna makes me scream "F**k!", it just keeps pulling... on the highways and long straights. low speed/ round town... no. might as well be captaining a yacht. big lummox.

I always keep a sporty. While I ride touring most of the time, I always find time to run errands, take a few of the mountain or farm roads, or take it to work. It is always fun and for me it has a special feeling, my first real joy on a motorcycle came in '64 when I got my first sporty. So every ride on my current sporty is like a Jules Verne time machine to High School. Rode it yesterday at 30F. Works with my Gerbing's gear just fine.

I kept mine because I didn't need the few grand the tire kickers would offer me. I
bought a Super Glide for two -up, and If I am not riding two -up, I usually take the
Sportster. I call it my "alter ego" bike. LOL! I also told the OL, "if I sell it, I will end up
buying another one" I know myself pretty well.

I live in rural America. Where i live there are 4 houses per square mile if even that. Interstate doesn't belong in that sentence. I should of said long country roads with little to no traffic at highway speeds. Ironically getting from point A to be in the U.S doesn't require interstate driving thankfully. Ride safe.

My Sporty is pure adrenaline. I spend a lot of time on Softails, baggers, Trikes, and a bit on a Dyna now and then. But for pure in the wind fun, & raw acceleration up to about 95, no other HD comes close for me.

I loved my Sportster, and heard the same crap from people. A lot just said it was too small for me. But, I was comfortable on it, and it handled great.
Now I have a Triumph as a second bike, and it's very similar to my old Sportster. I'm sure I'll always have two bikes, unless I can find room in the garage for a third! If it happens to be a Sportser, I'll be fine with that!
