i don't have a photo here, but i installed one last year on my 1991 Sportster after doing a full headlight replacement which included eliminating the headlight visor/brow. As delivered it did not quite fit, a little too small. Ten seconds in the bench vise and it fit just fine. Nice clean welds, I like it. And it give you a reason to have the lugs on the upper tree that used to hold the visor on. Without the piece, it looked like something was missing.

To HSCIC thanks for the pics and info on the headlight. Can't quite see the headlight mount. Not sure if this mount you are talking about is the stock Harley one or the Bates one that came with the 7" headlight.
To Architect and JOHNNY thanks for the replies and info. Would really like to see the finished look on the bike. If time permits maybe you could post some finished pics. I have a foot of snow in my yard so getting to my sporty is harder now.

I am using the mount from the 7" headlight and just bolted onto DK's headlight relo kit. The only things I did not use from the 7" headlight was the halogen bulb (replaced with LED) and the 5w auxillary lamp (taped up the wires) since it is not required in the US.

I had trouble releasing the wires from the stock connector in the bucket in order to remove the wires from the stock bucket so I cut the wires then reconnected the wires after routing into the new headlight bucket.
If you are able to release the wires from the stock connector, then:
Make note which wire goes into which receptacle on the connector
Install the headlight
Route the wires in the new bucket
Insert the wires into stock connector
Plug the connector to the bulb
It is a simple plug and play. If you are required to use the auxllary light in Canada, then I believe you should have a two wire (plus a ground) that comes out of the headlight harness that needs to be connect to the two wire auxilary bulb. From what I learned, that light turns on (and stays on) when you turn off your headlights like when you park your bike. The headlight did not come with any instructions. Good luck

Glad to help. Good luck with your install. PM me if you have questions during your install.
Just one more thing....I believe the headlight comes with a connector with wires. If you use that connector then you need to connect the wires from that connector (black/green ground, white high, blue low according to J&P) to the stock wires (black ground, white high, yellow low). If you get DK's headlight, their wires are green ground, white low, blue high. Just connect ground to ground, low to low, and high to high.

Excuse the wires...Ultimately I'll have 14" NYC Choppers Nice Curves bars internally wired on 1 1/2" risers.
The guide definitely gives it a finished look.
