Default Recommend me a throttle tube please.

Bike is a 2002 XL1200.

I got some rubber grips that I like a lot and ordered a throttle tube in order to be able to use them. The bike currently has the solid type grips where the tube is built into the grip itself.

I ordered an Avon tube and it does not fit. The channel where the cables sit is too wide and will not fit all the way into the track inside the clamshell where it is supposed to rotate.

Can someone recommend me a tube that is known to fit properly? I don't want to spend $50 on billet tube, a plastic one is fine I just need on that fits.

Thanks!

I cut the old grip off and reuse the tube.

Thought about that but can't.

The bike has these grips where even if you did cut the rubber off, the new grip won't fit over it. Even if I wrestled them on there, the reason I'm changing them is because these have a convex shape to them that I don't find comfortable. The grips that are going on it are flat.

Ehhh **** it.

Found an OE HD tube with grip on Ebay that I ordered. Just going to cut the grip off the original and use that.

Done mucking around with it.

I knew that one would be a good one because I saw some of the reviews but I didn't want to spend that much on just a tube.

Like I mentioned in a previous post, I found an OE take off HD tube on Ebay. Looks like I was just delivered so I'm gonna' swap the grips real quick when I go home for lunch.
