Default Cone type filter question

I did a search on this topic but didn't find anything that answered my newb questions.

I love the look of those cone type air filters. Who has them? Are they hard to install? What brands are good? What are the cons for them. Any advise would be appreciated.

What are the benefits? I really dig they way they look. And is this considered part of the stage 1 upgrade?

Yes, the filter you are asking about is a Forcewinder. I don't have one, but there are other posts here on them.

Try either Forcewinder ( useforce.com ) or Doherty machine. they are both excelent breathers. May I also suggest aA aluminium carb/efi. bracket. mounts to the breather bolts in the heads and holds it all together. the breather holes ard directly in the throat of the mount. no need for any extra hoses or filters to muck up the looks of your ride. I used one on my Sportster, really clean look.

They do increase the air intake considerably... I am going with a forcewinder myself... Just be sure to install them correctly... I have seen them fall off on the road

there are a few things you will need to make sure you get if you go with a forcewinder. you will also need to get a carb support bracket and also get a horseshoe breather kit. Its a great piece and you can't beat the looks of them. They actually perform better then most other intakes also. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
