Canadian Tail Light Options
Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased a 2013 Forty Eight, unfortunately in canada there are some different regulations than in the US and the stock 48 comes with a full rear fender with a Big A$$ ugly brake light and an even uglier vertical license plate holder above it. Any ideas to fix this would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Fit this rear light ?

And as recommended, plate to side :

Naturally I have no idea if they fit Canadian bike, or if they are legal to use there.
And similar cheaper aftermarket products from non HD vendors surely exists too.

Here in Canada you are required to have a center mounted brake light, that's why HD uses the old ugly tail light on some models.
Using the HD run/turn/stop module you still need a center brake light to be fully legal, I used a LED strip just under the rear bag (I feel better having a more obvious brake light anyway). For the plate I just took apart and modified the factory one so it lays down and used LED licence plate bolts to meet the plate light requirement. I like the look of how it turned out and it's nice that it's legal so I don't have to worry about getting harassed. You can see more in the pictures in my gallery.
This is the thread from when I did mine.
