Considering you never really change oil in a Sportster unless you remove old filter, fill new filter, screw it back on with oil running everywhere, drain all you can from engine, add some oil, pinch off a certain hose, start bike, catch the last quart then fill the tank to proper level whatever that is which really doesn't matter because it's going to use and blow out soon enough and then you've got some clown claiming you will gain 6 HP if you use his filter and another clown trying to sell you a filter like the ones they had back in the 1920's-------I thing I am going to take Bill Murry's advice "It really doesn't matter".

I'm not sure what "Difference" you felt with just an Diff. Oil Filter ??,, but the bottom line is, just like the oil we use in our Cars & Bikes...If it gives you that Warm Fuzzy Feeling inside, and if "YOU" feel you made the right choice...Then it's all good.

I have one of the reusuable filters on my sportster, I bought it on amazon (
Amazon.com: PC Racing PCS4B Black Stainless Steel Flo Oil Filter: Automotive Amazon.com: PC Racing PCS4B Black Stainless Steel Flo Oil Filter: Automotive
).. i bought it for its looks mostly although I like the idea that you can see what is in it at oil change and it is suppose to flow more oil so it bypasses less often....but mostly for the looks... I couldn't be happier with it...

We're only discussing filters. This is hardly an issue worth getting all tribal over. Paper filters and permanent filters are different, just like Dino oil and Synthetic oil is different. The differences matter to some and don't matter to others. At the end of the day:
