Default 1999 Hugger fork length vs. Standard???

Doers anyone know know the actual lengths of Hugger front fork tubes vs. Standard? Ive searched but can't find any consistent answers? Standard fork tubes PN 45395-97, Hugger PN 45395-92. Im ready to buy some on eBay for my 1999 883 Hugger to raise it up to standard fork length...

Wink

Until someone comes up with the answer, your only safe way of proceeding is to check what model the tubes you're looking at are for, or use the correct part number you have above. You should also check an on-line parts website, as you will also probably need longer damper tubes as well.

Ive done that. Ive looked on the web for hours. Ive searched with the standard fork tube pn# 45395-97 and the Hugger pn#. Ive looked on eBay for people selling them. No luck. Most of them say "Sportster fork stanchions. will fit the following: ". I haven't been able to definitively find out what length the Huggers came with or what the standards came with.

The list they give should answer which models they fit? The link I gave you tells you the H-D model and code for each model, the Huggers being 'CE', which use tube #45395-92. Only the Sport uses a third tube, #45366-96, but the entire fork is different. All the other 1999 models for that year, codes CAM/CAP/CG/C, models XL1200, XL1200C, XL883, XL883C, use the tube #45395-97. That should let you select the longer tubes you want. If not then give us a link to one of those Ebay ads, so we can see it. Are you looking at new or secondhand ones? A Harley dealer should be able to supply correct new ones.

Im looking at some second hand 39mm tubes that are 23 3/8 long, but I can't afford to pull the trigger on them until I know for sure they're longer than my stock Hugger tubes.
