coming along-neck bearings are in and nameplates are on.

The headlight tins fit without any machining--very tight but the screw holes line up and the neck bolts in loosely for now. Hopefully I get the forks together tomorrow.

Last night I was showing her memphis shades shields with gradient ruby tint on the bottom. We'll see as it comes along. I used the decal you show on my battery cover before I went hydra front on my dyna-now I run the FLH decal.

This is the only picture I have of the Memphis Ruby after I painted the bike black. I would have kept it but for the fact that it clashed with my amber spot lights. It would really work on your wife's bike without the spot lights.

The sticker I linked earlier is early 60's Ironhead Sportster. There is a late 50's similar one that says "Sportster" on it if you can find it.

Relocated coil and ignition. Had to grind a little of the stock ignition housing to make fit wth the 4.5gal tank. I like the ignition under the tank. Reminds of the sportster I had in 1983.

Mocked up the headlight, starting to look beefy.

Well less than 24 hrs on CL and sold my peanut tank, entire front end with fender, headlight assembly and front wheel with tire. I promised I would get back to him as soon I pull the rear mag and replace with laced to match deluxe wheel up front!
He wanted me to pull the rear wheel off when he showed up last night after driving 2 hours but it was after 9pm, I get up at 0445 for work.

I see your edit added the getting up at 4:45am...that makes the difference I get up at the same time

I drug my feet too long...i meant to send you a PM about some of those cast-off Sporty parts...Oh well

Where in Nor cal are you-its because of the info you provided I'm going to Livermoore Sat morning to pick up 2003 Touring wheels- He's set on selling the set and I only need the rear. I'm over in Sonoma.

Sacramento (just north-east of)

"going to Livermoore Sat morning to pick up 2003 Touring wheel"
... a bit of a drive...75miles one way?

The 2003 wheels from the CL Ad you posted earlier? Is it a Done Deal? Had you check any of your Indys in that area (Santa Rosa, etc)? I would think it should be easy to pick-up a 16X3 Touring take-off rear...if they haven't been thrown away yet

I might have one if interested?
