Default FLS front end on sportster

I'm going to fit an FL softail front end on a 2007 883. I want to be able to bolt softail tins and run a softail slim fender up front--maybe cut back 2-2.5" from the leading edge of the fender and 16X3 wheel. Machining and grinding may be needed. Found some info on another forum where this has been done to an '05 sportster. I recently finished converting my Street Bob into a retro style FLH and am looking to do a sportster slim (FAT?) Check out the street bob below. Just so you know there wont be any passing lamps on the sportster build. Follow this link if you'd like more info on the Street Bob-

Talking

Sounds to me like you are best placed to answer your own question! You've done some fine work there with your SB and you can fit those forks on your Sporty before you get a useful answer.....

Thumbs up

With your wife's gas tank project on board as well, you're obviously a capable chap! When you have a spare moment......

thanks iron horse--now just waiting on parts from FLeBay! Didn't take long to dismantle the front end.

Hope the assembly goes as easy.

Ordered a coil relocation/ ignition kit from DK customs. In my research I found it mentioned in here that the key above the coil deal may not fit. I'm not lifting the 4.5gal tank and prefer to have the ignition under the tank. Called DK and they confirmed kit I ordered WILL fit with the 4.5 with no tank lift. Great customer service. Dawn double checked with staff and shot me a text after speaking with Kelsey.
Heres a link to what prompted me to call DK. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...no-lift-2.html

I got the 4.5 gal tank today and removed the nameplates. I have a set of these coming.

Also got the FL triple trees. Theres going to be a lot of grinding on the lower tree for steering clearance. I had to remove the lower bearing on the FL tree, done by heating hammering and cussing.
