Crank position sensor. +1 My '06 had became flakey, power loss etc, replacing the cps solved the issue. Don't know about your model year, but the earlier ones had lots of problems with this.

This, pretty frequent problem with Sporties, not expensive and easy to replace. Take yours with you as there are a couple of variations as to length of the wire.

I need some tips on how to diagnose a problem with my Sportster.

2012 XL1200C, 15000 miles
Mods:
V&H twin slash slip-ons
SE Stage 1 air cleaner kit
FuelMoto micro EFI tuner

I've had the bike for two years (I bought it used - had 800 miles) and haven't had any problems until recently.

The bike runs fine when cold, but after it warms up I get brief losses of power when accelerating from idle.

What I have tried...

I've run both Seafoam and Techron fuel injector cleaner (at different times) through full tanks of gas.

I replaced the plug wires (the rear cylinder tested out of spec with multimeter) and plugs.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2012 1200 Custom. I too, had the off-idle stumble, along with other issues. I tried various cures, & the one that finally solved the problem was the Dynojet Power Vision. It comes with various maps preloaded into it. Easy to install. (I did not have luck with my Micro Tuner either)

I was thinking that also. I have never been a fan of piggy back systems like the Micro tuner that tricks the computer and those that eliminate the O2 sensors. When they go bad and problems start, the last thing you would suspect is the tuner. I had problems before with piggy back systems like the power commander. I prefer flash tunes 100%.

To the OP, contact FuelMoto and talk with someone in support. Maybe they can help if its a tuner issue. I'm leaning that way because it happens after the bike warms up.
