Default Rear wheel alignment after license bracket relocation

Hi,

Thanks for your help in advance. 2014 iron 883 do i have to realign rear wheels after i loosened the axle bolt nut to install an axle mounted license plate bracket? Thanks

Perhaps pics would help. Where is the license plate bracket mounted...where on the axle? Manufacturers normally do not make something simple like a license plate bracket requiring rear wheel alignment.

-IF- all you did was loosen the nut, remove it & add a fixed plate bracket
& reinstall nut, then no.


BUT, if you touched the "adjusters" at the end of the swingarm, then YES.

i'm going to say "no", as long as you do not mess with the adjusters on the ends of the swingarm. just re-tighten to spec for your year ( my 2007 is 95-105 ft/lbs / 129-142Nm). Hold tight for a more intelligent response from the elder folks lurking in the forum.



my poor reasoning: you can remove/install your rear wheel without compromising the alignment by just pulling the axle out/pushing the axle back in the swingarm.
