Congrats on the new ride!

Mid 20's for me on the Sportster.

The bike likes cold temps and will run fine.

Until a few years ago I would layer up...now I just plug in the electric jacket liner and am good to go.

I ride year-round here in NC. Although my King gets most of the saddle time during the colder months, I have heated gear (jacket liner and gloves) to keep warm. The King has heated grips, but both the King and Sporty have connections for my heated gear.

I rode the Sporty a couple weekends ago in the mid-40s. About the mid-30s is the coldest I'll ride on either bike.

Post up some pics of the new ride when you get a chance, and welcome from NC.

20F here. I have a Gerbings jacket liner and gloves plugged into the battery tender cable. I wear a textile jacket and textile over pants. I wear "BOG" neoprene boots with wool socks.
I wear a modular helmet. I had to try many different head/face designs before I found one that I could wear comfortably all day. Face mask and neck cover is critical. I found that a lighter weight with good shaped nose hole works best for me.

Most important is to take care of hands, then neck/face, then feet. I have ridden all day when the high was 26F and 22F by the time I got home.

Gone are the days when I placed my gloved hand alternately on each jug to warm them and grasped the front jug with both hands at a stop light. My '96 EVO handles the cold just fine. 20F is probably close to my limit for an all day ride.
If this is just a ride home, I would get both glove and body heat packs to stick into your gloves and on your core.

So how was your ride home?????

I bought my Sporty in February and could not wait to ride it, so I was out one night when it was in the 20s and a guy in a car at a stop light rolled down his window and said "I love to ride too, but it's too damn cold out here for me".

21 degrees, for about a hundred miles. Gerbing staved off hypothermia.

17 degrees with freezing rain, for about 20 miles. After about 10 miles I lost feeling in my toes and hands.

In January of 2013 I rode 280 miles in 15 degree weather. Never been that cold before. I had layers on but the wind just cut right through them with ease.

It was 58 here in the wilderness in Idaho. Played golf today, going ridin' tomorrow.

Keep us posted on your new bike, and keep in mind the Rule of the Internet:
