Default What kinds of riding boots do yins wear?

Looking for opinions on new riding boots. I currently wear brown Doc Martens 1460s but looking for something black. I'd like waterproof and better ankle support. Anybody got anything they would recommend?

really depends on how you are riding. i wore my docs 1460s for about a year as my only riding boots. they were great. rode from md to fl and back in them.... through rain, cold, heat... held up great. moved to red wing 988 for more protection... but they are big clunky boots. they look the business though and the vibram sole is nice.

I wear:

I LOVE the
Chippewa Rally Chippewa Rally
... seriously.... nothing close in style function and quality. there are better boots of the type likehttp://www.revzilla.com/sidi-boots and others but they don't have style. they are purpose built. the rallys are my go too.

my 17" engineers are for long trips or really cold days to keep the wind off my lower legs and prevent burns. http://www.chippewaboots.com/boots-and-shoes/17%22

the rest of the boots kinda vary based on my outfits (yeah i said it, i'm a fkn man!)

i'm not as bad as this guy and his "boot room" but he is right, the wescos are the meanest boot alive. i just cheaped out and got the chippewa 17"s for touring and cold because i was spending so much at the time. but i will be going here in the summer: https://www.boot.com/***oss.shtml

The word has become are commonly referred to as "yinzers". associated with Pittsburgh in particular, whose natives
Emblematic of Pittsburghese is "yinz" as the plural of "you", with "yunz" as a variant. Locals who speak the Pittsburgh dialect are often referred to as "yinzers".
A western-Pennsylvania bastardization of the phrase "you ones", which addresses more than one person.

There's your Pittsburgh grammar lesson. N'at.

+1 on the Chippewa Rally. I also use Danner boots. Has that all-day comfort and are very light. I have the Lookout side-zip and Wildland Tactical.

You can get 'em cheaper elsewhere of course.

better than leather shorts, "pop", and "hoagies".

my roommate in undergrad was from pittsburgh. he was a wild dude. even by baltimore standards.. a habitual linestepper.... he'd get kicked out of everywhere and everything. i love that dude.
