Hello every one, I'm new to thisforum hoping to get some information. I'm 24 and my dad just handed down to me his 1978 XL Sportster. I in the process of restoring the bike and cant find the special tires required for the bike,or any information. The rims have a special bead to lock the tires to the rims (rims have an orange and black stripe on the inside of the rim on both sides). The tires that are on the rims are original and they are Good Years, the tires say use with beaded rims only.I took the rims and tires down to Brighton Harley and they had three guys working on finding tires and not one of them could find anything.

 

Go to the J P Cycles website and sign in and go to the tech section and ask the question With the words "TO STAFF" Written first. Give them your E mail address and they will try their best to find what you need........Even if they don't sell it
