Default Carb farts, oil mist??

Put a new Hammer performance impact a/c on this weekend along with a new exhaust. During my preliminary tuning ride (cv carb) had a carb fart and an oily substance misted onto my new pipes and oil tank cover.

The external breather kit I put on is working fine, no leaks at all.

Could this be just the oil from the K&N oiled filter getting blown out by the carb fart or something more serious?

I had to adjust my air/fuel mixture after a different a/c and pipes, now it runs better than ever. Good info and parts on this site.

I concur with CV Performance parts and info on their site; I recently rebuilt my carb with all their parts and also replaced my Intake manifold seals. I had all original parts (2006). My bike runs strong, no more decel popping which was a result of the leaking manifold seals.

I am running a SE intake and V&H Shortshots.

Thanks, but neither answered my question. Tuned it with CV tuner kit, runs great, with the occasional fart that I know can never actually be 100% gone. Just want to know what could possibly be coming out of my filter.

Are you able to tell what color the oil is? I'd guess that it would be oil from your filter. If there was oil coming out of the carb, I would think it would get caught by your filter and not get blown out and also be the dark brown color.

Its a near clear oil. My guess is the oiled filter.

That would be my guess also, I'm no mechanic but it makes sense.. Sounds like you may have too much oil on your filter as well.

Did you over oil the filter? My first bike back in the 80 s, I figured the more oil the better, now I know a light mist is enough! Especially on newer vehicles too much oil gets sucked through the filter and goes onto sensors and messes readings up to the computer.

Default Carb Farts: Are they inevitable?

Carb Farts (CV) can be eliminated! My '05 883/now stage I, had them bad, and took forever to warm up (fewer farting). However, when I changed the slow jet to 48 and adjusted the mixture screw "richer", warms up in a few minutes, no farting then, and seems stronger.
