It's in parallel, not in series! All is fine.

It also uses next to no power anyway!

We just got back from a week riding en France, when the powered mount came into it's own. I can lead on my Buell, until the battery in the satnav runs out, then hand le baton over to my wife to lead! Success.

I hope you included a fuse in the new wire close to the new terminal. It's not quite so critical in your case (connected to the sidelight) but if power is taken from a headlight lead and the new wires short for whatever reason without a fuse in the circuit you'll be without the light until you either disconnect or fix the short.

I have one of those things below, which plugs into the battery tender outlet and I use the usb lead for my NoPro, Sat nav, Phone etc.

Hi John, according to my reading of the service manual, the International spec sidelight I used is on the Accessory circuit, so no I haven't added a dedicated fuse. That's my excuse.....
