Default I did a 1200 conversion need help

I just finished up my 2006 883 to a 1200 conversion earlier today I used the v-twin brand conversion kit as it was all I could afford anyway I got it all together and ride it down the road a little ways and it just doesn't seem to have much if at all any power difference I put a new 180 main jet and a 45 slow jet in and other then that haven't done anything elese so far waiting to get enough money to get the 1200 ignition but it pops a lot and backfires quite a bit when I let off the throttle also if anyone knows why theses problems are happening please let me know

I apologize ahead for my spelling and grammar

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. Popping and banging could be as simple as air leaks in the exhaust or inlet side. Did you adjust the ignition timing? What exhaust system and air filter do you have?

Seriously, you need to park the bike until you get the 1200 ignition module installed. The 883 ignition module timing has way too much advance for the 1200.

And so all I need is the 1200 ignition module as far as the ignition goes correct?

You need a 1200 ignition module just as a start. Without it you risk putting a hole in a piston.

Once that's done you need to check for air leaks around the intake manifold and the exhaust system. Then it will be time to get the carb properly jetted.

Okay I just ordered a stock 1200 ignition module hopefully that will be okay and would a air leak really cause that much power loss sorry for all the questions I'm just new to Harley's and trying to gain as much knowledge as I can

What do you mean a stock 1200 ignition module? Just curious. (At this point) Which model did you order? Part number?

That is the same ignition module you already have. I'm pretty sure the 883 and the 1200 have the same part number module, and same part number crank trigger. Go look at the part number on your bike and see if you just ordered the same part.

32622-04C I believe. That is the new number for the replacements, but it is for both the 883 and 1200.
