as far as safety... for the summer i went with a Dianese mesh jacket with internal pads.

I ordered a black 3m reflective material that i want to cut my AK innitials and have sewn under the mesh in the back for more visibility from other vehicles behind me at night. Love the coat.. it fits perfect and snug but breathes easy so i dont get hot. the shoulders and arms are a kevlar type of material that wont burn if you slide out.

Helmet is a Vega. affordable full face DOT approved and comfortable. it fogs a little but has vents that clear that up fast

gloves are Napa Glove Co. Deerskin black with padding.

it gets hot here in dallas so i wanted a half helmet with face protection so i dont sweat like crazy with this beard. my buddy has a Bell Rogue helmet and is selling me it cheap so that might be my local ride helmet. Use the full face helmet for longer rides

You're getting some great stuff. Love hearing about the changes and looking forward to seeing the ones you have planned.

thanks Tlaw.

maybe someone can chime in on this. I have been having trouble prying out my oil dipstick. it seems to be wedged in there pretty hard. it pops up and twists... but i cant get it out. its stuck so hard that the silver cap keeps popping off. i was going to upgrade to a pop up oil temp dipstick soon but i cant even get this one out. any advice?

Got that Fuquin dipstick out.. Three beers down and some idgaf and it came out. Used my trusty pocket knife as a lever and got it moving. Oiled it up and now it comes out with ease... Those older oil dipsticks are crazy hard to get out when theyre seized. Took a few spins around downtown dallas. Installed my plates. Nice night to ride

So today was fun. i decided to be street legal and stop being a rebel and take a rider course to get an M stamped on my license. Lone Star Bikers Holds an awesome class! Was super affordable informative and fun. I saw total newbies who never sat on a bike, riding and shifting gears with confidence by the end of the day. Tomorrow is part two to finish up the course and its supposed to rain so that should be a fun challenge. I just went out and bought a light weight rain suit just incase.

We rode some small 250s that i had fun abusing.
^ passed the written with a 100%. just need common bike and road rule knowledge

i kinda bonded with this lil metal horse.

and although I'm liking my helmet... i may opt for a brighter half or three quarter helmet so my face can breathe while riding through town. Keep the full face for highway riding

my black 3m material and OEM harley mirrors came in. took off the small aftermarket ones the previous owner has and i can see even more now.

going to cut out a design and have a seamstress sew it under the mesh in my riding jacket for more night visibility.

regular light all black:

with light flashing on it:

OEM mirrors

Next to be done
- lower rear shocks to be put on
-new rear foot brake pedal on the way. (current is scraped up)
-been looking at Daymaker or 7" fatboy front light so i might make that mod
-lay down license plate and low profile rear light on the way
-drag style black handle bars that are 1" slightly lower

Hope you guys appreciate my updates.. I'm a car modder guy so i can't ever drive anything stock. I have fun modding my vehicles and making them unique and just like to share the process

Yeah, no one has ever been guilty of that out here!

The only thing that keeps me from jumping on that bandwagon is funds so I live vicariously through everyone out here, watching what you do and getting ideas I'd like to do.

thanks man and yea funds are a factor too. i usually do mods with whatever bits of money i have left over so big things like paint or custom built parts have to come in the future. for now its just cleaning the bike up and giving it a little TLC to get ready for the summer
