turning on highbeam with throw a code and a red led. nothing to sweat, goes away after you turn the bike off.

Does it hurt to ride the bike at all if there is a code thrown and you are still riding it? Does the headlight still work if a code is thrown?
And everything resets when you shut it off?
Sorry for the dumb questions. I am wanting to go with this light, but want to know all the details before i jump into it.

the bulb hurts nothing.
bike's ecm expects to see x level of draw. led draws less than x. bike 's ecm thinks there is and issue because the led is drawing below x. bike's ecm then warns the owner via red led (the bulb throws no codes on my 2007), letting owner know there are diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) codes in the ecm's memory for retrieval.
codes stay in ecm memory until retrieved and cleared. because why would they go away.. how would you know the bike found a problem?
DTC codes... (for newer bikes, substitute "odometer" button with "trip" button)
does no damage. just buy the bulb, stop over thinking it (said before). i gain nothing from you buying from DK and i am not out to see that the world burns.

I took the DK LED out and cleaned the inside of the bulb and the reflector with a micro fiber rag and windex. That made a big difference, got rid of nearly all the foggy look I reported. Wrapped a pencil with the rag. The reflector coating looks real thin so be careful not to scratch it or even rub it too hard. Even without the LED on the glass looks clean now. I have not experienced any codes thrown.
