The tank looks friggin cool but practically speaking it sucks. Low fuel light at about 60-65 for me, haven't run it dry yet but 80 miles is my "danger zone". My cruising rides end up being gas station to gas station, solo it's not bad, stretch a bit, grab a drink n a smoke, map check. Cruising with a buddy can be a pain cause I'm always "that guy" who needs to stop. But I love the style and we humans end up adapting to things quickly!

72's rock!
Best of the bunch IMHO!

I sat on one 2 years ago and I just couldn't get it out of my head.
It just felt...right!
I just traded my "1200 Custom" for one a couple of weeks ago.
I have been looking HARD for a few months and finally found this one.
Brought it home with just over 1,100 miles on it.

The 72 is a super cool bike. I don't know if I'd be comfortable riding one, but man, I love seeing them in the showroom. All of the bikes in this thread look great!

I still love mine. Yeah, distance cruising is not it's forte but if you plan the trip out, it does just fine.

Could be related to geographic/demographic areas also.
My darling Betty sat unsold for a year in Dodge City. But their 72's and anything chromed were moving much quicker.

Not my style, but I do respect the design effort and result.

Agreed...
Locally, used 72's move out of the showrooms QUICKLY.
When I decided to make the move to a 72, I was constantly watching seven HD dealership websites.
When a used 72 would appear, they were usually sold within just a couple of days.
The only exception to this was the BIG BLUE PEARL bikes.
Those were taking much longer to move.

The bikes in here look great guys. I wish I could of found one with the flake I'm super jealous of you guys that got the flake but i found the best deal on one in denim black. Have plans to go with a custom painted tank later on down the road when the funds are there.

Nope...
Big Blue Pearl... 2012/2013 color... maybe later years as well.

It isn't the Hard Candy Big Flake style.
The one below has been available for a couple of months.
