2000 Buell S3T engine parts inter change?
Hey guys
I'm working on a 2000 Buell S3T, 1200 engine. At this point the starter has crapped out. I'm trying to find out if a starter from the same year sportsters will bolt up to this thing? I know this is a Buell, but I'm having a hard time getting information on these bikes. I have owned a sportster years ago, and think these Buell,s engines are basicly the HD sportster 1200. Any input would be helpful guys.

Go to the www.XLforum.net and look done the thread list for the right place to ask that question. A lot of experience on that site. Here no so much.

If the bike is yours it is well worth getting the parts book, which will enable you to check part numbers. A factory service manual is also very useful, both books available from your local friendly Harley dealer. I have a Firebolt and have been able to get all the parts I need for it so far.

Just an FYI, they've had A LOT of iterations of that starter. I think the current OEM one for your buell is a 91F model. But basically any one will work. If you're looking to completely replace them, I recommend an All ***** starter. I got mine on amazon for about $140 brand new. It's much nicer than the OEM one.
