Default Doakes was out in full force- the fun part starts

suprise *****!

issues:
  1. caliper distance, both sides
  2. calipers slapping rotor buttons
  3. headlight brow
  4. terrible towel (can't trust yellow towels or Roethlisberger)
  5. clock mount(petty)

1.

calipers centered on rotors.... huge gap from mount

same but smaller gap
2.
i'm going to shave back the little tabs on both sides (inner/outer) a bit to stop the slapping. oddly was not present before

3.

Custom brow bolt pattern is wider than my 2007 883's

headlight currently hanging by zipties to prevent strain on the wires. couple option... lower tree mount and a new bucket.... get the ugly 2011+ custom brow ... fatbob headlights... ? open to suggestions

options---

3. towel was not invincible... earned a tiny dent but, it's behind the riser and bars.. not really visible.. don't care now. thanks bad o-ring.

4. there's a difference in the depth of the stem bolt recess that makes it hard to mount my little clock there... silly and petty... the battery was dead anyway... i clearly didn't care enough to change it.

custom brow is ornamental dead weight.... wt*?

are you say that my iron hat for the headlamp won´t work for my mideglide projekt???
what bike are yours from cause you can fit riser, mine is from super low 2014 and it´s like the 48 but with headlamp hat , if i was having your troubel i would by that crom cover have it painted black so the top trippel tree is flat from the front ,and get a 7" headlamp that is mounted from lower tree

regards
Sören

the 48 has always had the light mounted on the lower triple tree. theres a little hole for it mount in the lower. that hole is on my custom lower.

i can't say for yours because it's not the same as the custom 2011 trees.

the 2011+ custom cover/brow thing is ugly as all sin and serves no purpose (maybe some wind and light control, hiding wires?), i didn't know that until last night. i wouldn't buy it for this project.

the superlow is a mid-glide for the gorgeous wheels and radials. it might just be that you have solved the issue for me and i should go looking for a super-low bracket. that's possible. guess i need the eye-to-eye measurements on the superlow 677001-96 vs the 67805-92 that came on my sportster.

definite no go on the 7". i could also just extend the bracket out enough to mount the stock 2007 using the dk rear tank lift kit... hmm

if your bracket/brow doesn't work... i can at least use that #14 68041-04 (72) thing to hide the wires

Søren Rix Petersen.... you genius... thank you for making me think... staring at the diagrams and such because of your response made the light bulb go on. guess i have to thank dk too.
went out and tested... boom, that will work temporarily.

Well, apparently good news for Sören...not as good for you C

Sören,
your Iron "hat" should fit the Superlow Top Tree because as per part# the 2011-2017 Low/Superlow use the same Top Tree, 2011-2013 use the same Headlight Bracket 67805-92 as cvaria, 2014-2017 use the different# 67700196 ...So something changed, but it wasn't the Headlight bracket mounting dimension.

EDIT: I wrote this before reading your post just above (but still applies)

it's a temp fix. not sure how well those little guys can handle the stress from the wind, weight of the light, and constant vibes.

C, before you go grinding... I'd like hear more about the caliper "Tabs" (those are the brake pad Guides btw) slapping on the rotor? and not before?

yeah. weird. granted the calipers aren't sitting steady. but, the little buttons whack the guide tabs ... clack clack clack. i will resolve the spacing issues first, then address the clacking if it still exists.

Can't see in pics..you're talking about the "Floating" Rotor Buttons? On both sides? Can you take better pics? It's not those protruding bolts?
