I thought about this too before I was going to do the side mount plate. In straightshot's photo, there is a black plastic button a little bit higher than the pyramid. I was going to see if the HD dealership can get more of those. Not sure if they snap in but it would somewhat clean the fender up a bit unless you did not want to use the pyramid.
