You've answered your own question, the 12 cell is marginally adequate.
On top of that it looks like you're in Texas and heat is really hard on batteries, especially if they are barely adequate when new.

My HD battery in my 16 year old 1200XLH is 3 years old that I know of it came with the bike. My bike sits outside during the winters and has never failed to start in the spring. Where I live it gets to 100 in the summer and 20 below zero in the winter. I don’t know who builds the batteries for Harley but I will always buy them.

1 more vote for the hd battery. ain't nobody got time for battery games. antigravity is cool but, it costs the same as two hd batteries...

money v. trees

It had a hesitation with an OLD HD battery. I bought my bike used, and it had a HD battery in it. The bike is a 2009, so I have no idea how old the battery was. I've seen car batteries last several years, so it's possible the battery was original to the bike. It finally died off a few weeks ago. Because of the minimal price difference on anything local, I went with the OEM option.

Later!

I live in Dallas and my ride is a 2011 Iron. First 2 years I lost the batteries every summer. Both of them HD. So I look for a replacement, I got a MotoBatt. So far so good. But Texas heat kill batteries. Is over a year and still going. Will see how much it last.

i have a shoria just a little cheaper then the Anti gravity. if you dont mind spending the extra money the lithium is the way to go. any lead acid will be the same as a HD cheaper i bet too.

Bike starts right up everytime...no hesitation. It is light and small so other things can fit in the battery compartment and I no longer need to zip my battery cover.

How long have you had this battery? I'm wondering if the double the price equals double the life? I've never had any battery last longer than 2 yrs even on a tender in any of my bikes & I've tried several manufactures ( always sealed batteries ) Did you also get the special tender for this battery?

My battery just died. I've decided to go with an AGM battery. The Antigravity sounds great but I don't have a need for the extra cost. I'm wondering if anybody had any experience with a Scorpion battery? Seems to have a few more CCA than OEM.

I went with the big Boar Mini 314, 300 CCA opposed to the stock 210 CCA http://bigboarproducts.com/314BB.htm it has been a year and a half so far, I was not up to trying the newer Anti Gravity yet.

Not long enough to give you an assessment on life. But I also have a battery tender for this type battery since I have parasitic draw from my security system and smart alarm.

I had a HD battery which was still good, but it had hesitation when starting the bike so after I replaced it (no hestitation with AG), I use the HD battery to connect my HD portable air pump to fill my tires. I carry the air pump in my bags that can connect to my AG just in case. I can connect three things to the AG with one connector that I installed on the battery - air pump, AG charger/jumper, battery tender...makes thing convenient.
