If it's not too late you could look into a matte vinyl wrap on your glossy parts.
I think one of the reasons H-D puts gloss black on the front fender and the oil tank is because the matte finish is easy to stain and scratch. Plus it gets shiny spots when you start scrubbing on it to get bug guys off it.

The FINAL and almost most galling issue for me is the oil tank side cover dipstick. It's Grey and plastic and no one and I mean no one we can find makes it black. So that's a part that we'll have to paint ourselves. Problem with this is that the dipstick is obviously a moving part and I've done this before on my old ride which was an Iron 883 and the paint often scratched off; it was a pain.

I painted my OL's 'oil-surround' on her Iron. Haven't had any scratching issues.
Scuffed it with 0000 steel wool, cleaned it with alcohol, then painted it. Pretty simple.

You'll notice the front fender is still glossy. I get the new primered one in a few days and I'll paint it. Also, I'm going to either paint or plasti-dip the chrome oil dipstick and trim to get a pretty complete blacked out look.
