Question AC glass crazing?

Just servicing my bike and cleaned the ac glass. When I put it back I noticed when standing above it, rather than looking straight at it, I can see crazing. I think you can see it in the picture, its the top section just above the middle? Slightly concerned about this as obviously I wouldn't want it breaking up and lunching my engine! Am I right to be worried? Anyone else's like this?

Is it glass and not plastic?

If glass...I'd get a new one before Murphy's Law takes action.

Good luck.

Acrylic crazing could be the result of thermal stress, inadequate cleaners, and solvents. Sunlight's UV component also does lots of damage over time, as pilots and boating folks know all too well.

How old is that piece? There is no means of repairing crazed acrylic, just replace it.

You've got me on this one. Why do you even want this?

Personally I'd be worried about it all the time and would get a replacement just to put it out of my mind.
Check with the manufacturer, I would think they might just send you a new piece as a goodwill customer service, or at least send you one at a nominal cost.

If that is a DKCustom unit, call Kevin and see what they have to say.

The plastic? cover on the fuel gauge of my Simplicity crazes from the 10% ethanol gas here in Wisconsin. After three gas gauges, I just gave up, broke the plastic out, and do without. Try real glass, At least 3/8" thick to keep from breaking.
