I have a 2009 XL1200C. . and many get Rush 3" Slip-ons. They have them with several inner baffles sizes from 1.5" , 1.75", 2", 2,25". I wanted a bit more classic Harely exhaust note without being too loud also.
Best part is I shopped around online and got them new for $149.86. Excellent chrome and build quality with whatever sound level (baffle size) you decide.

Here is a short video of how the 1.75" Rush sound on my Sportster.

Best listened to with headphones or decent speakers:

Vance & Hines Short Shots are not considered slip ons.
Straight Shots & Twin 3 Inch Slash are true Slip Ons.
Expect them to be on the lower edge of very loud.
A BT rider at work says my 3 inch Staggers make the Sportster sound better then a Sporty should sound.
With any V&H exhaust....expect a quality product and some extra VOLUME.

@towner - Check this thread. I created this thread to help others decide which slip-ons/exhaust system best suit their personal needs.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...nd-videos.html

@JayTee2015 - post your video slip on the thread above just so others can hear and compare. I have the 3" Rush with 2" baffles and posted the sound video on the thread but I subsequently installed TTIs 258 so smooth out the slight gaps in the powerband. Still loud though, much louder than the Street Glide down the street.

The trouble with any video is a lot depends on how good the microphone is for the recording device, distance from the exhaust, ambient noise levels, whether the recording was made inside or outside, etc.

And, most importantly, listening with good headphones or decent computer speakers. Listening with laptop or phone speakers will do nothing to present anywhere near what something really sounds like.

Also, some devices accentuate bass sounds levels other the high frequencies. A lot depends on how savvy the person making a recording is and sometimes dumb luck in all of the above.

It is a thread to see and hear different types of exhaust Yeah video clips do sound no justice, but it is a source. It is not an argument about quality of the vids...so if you choose not to share...that is fine too.

I thought I had done so a week of two ago. . maybe not.

How do my 3" slash downs Rush sound compared to yours? I know.. . different environment probably and acoustics. Very difficult to assess exhaust sound characteristic from computer sounds clips, but does give a hint of what it may sound like.

I spent quite a bit of time placing the camera I used, distance from the bike, angles, and more. I must have made a dozen recordings before I got a few that I was satisfied with.

Thanks....yes, sound will be different with different environmental variables.

Nice video...I actually saw that video when I was researching slip-ons.
I actually bought the Bassani slip-ons before my Rush based on comparisons/reviews like that vid and this.
http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/2012/0...arison-review/

But had to return the Bassani's since they do not have the crossover ports to install on the stock mounting hardware and crossover pipe...and did not want to remove it and install another mount system.

@OP - I believe your crossover ports are on your head pipes and not on the slip-ons...just keep that in mind when shopping.
