Did you feel a difference with a Stage 1 Intake/Exhaust?

But I'm pretty confident she'd have no idea if I modified this bike

Maybe I'll get her one of those safety course things for her bday so she can learn to ride. Sportster would be a good bike for her. Who knows, she might like it. I just get worried as the husband because wife can be little clumsy sometimes and we are in south florida so the drivers are pretty bad lol. Last thing I need is for my wife to get hurt
After all she knows my evil plans. Last gun I bought was for "her". She doesn't even know what kind of gun it is because I'm always carrying it

Yea it does make a difference. When its time to replace the air filter, replace it with the K&N. Flows much better then the SE filter.

I did the stage 1 round air cleaner V&H short shots and the fp3. I don't know if it made any power diff as I had 45 miles on bike when I put them on. But she sounds great and on these long ND roads I can get great fuel mileage. So for me it was worth it for the sound and looks more them any performance gain.

An 883 to 1250 upgrade will do a lot, you will still need to do a full "stage I upgrade" to accommodate going from 883 to 1250. I understand that is not the question you are asking though.
Regarding Stage I upgrades-
Not all Stage I upgrades are created equal!
The vast majority do not produce a substantial "seat of the pants" difference.
At DK Custom we regularly see our Stage I upgrades out-perform many "Stage II upgrades".
Below is a chart of a (low cost, but done right) Basic DK Custom Stage I Upgrade.
That jump in torque in the riding RPM's of 2000-4500 is something you will absolutely feel.
Here is chart of a DK Performance Plus Stage I, it is a bit more expensive, but it also is producing 19% more power!
For more information on what makes a Stage I perform well, vs. the majority of mediocre Stage I upgrades, check out this LINK.
