Default POLL: ____ Vibration Preference? ____ 03-Earlier SOLID "EVO" vs. 04-later Rubber "EVO"

The little Sportster riding experience I have: (I own both, but don't ride them much)

Hopped on a Solid Sportster (02 XL883H Hugger) for the First time some time back and rode 170 miles...No big deal.

Hopped on a Rubber Sportster (07 XL1200L Low) 2 weeks later and said "What's wrong with this thing?". All this buzzing vibration other than during Decel or "No Load" (maintaining speed on level ground is still a "Load").

I went to a Sportster "Demo Days" a short time later and rode about three 2014 sportster models and they all seem to have a similar buzzing vibration.

I haven't been able to do a full analysis, but at this point I think I prefer 03-Earlier SOLID "EVO" vibrations

So...What's your Vibration Preference?
03-Earlier SOLID "EVO"
OR
04-later Rubber "EVO"
.
.
.

im on a rubber mounted and even though i havent experienced solid mount. the vibration still is enough to make your hands tingle or go numb after an all days ride. id probably stick with the rubber mount

I have owned a solid sportster and sold it because of the very bad vibration at speeds over 65 mph.

I now own a rubber mounted sportster and can't notice any vibration when driving.

I have both, and at first called the 2000 883 my paint mixer till I put new tires on and a lot of the vibration went away. My 2004 1200 is still smoother, can cruise comfortably at 80+ while I don't enjoy extended periods on the older bike over 60.

Rode a non-rubber mount Sporty and that turned me off on Sportsters. Got me a 2016 Iron and now I'm a Sportster believer!

Shouldn't this have been posted in the 'Queens of the Road' section?

I like both and have both. But with over 50K miles between them I just don't see much difference. The rubber mounted XL is much more restricted than the rubber mounted twin cams.

I find that at 80+ mph both get buzzy in the bars and pegs.

Solution to both - Stay under 80!

I have a solid mount, my friend has a rubber mount. i give him a hard time at stop lights,
i tell him he's got a "Milwaukee Paint Shaker." His engine is bouncing all over compared to mine, while we're waiting for the light to change.
