Thanks y'all! Really appreciate the pointers, I'll go over it and get it cleaned up. I took off the 2 up seat (my wife is not interested) and am already thinking about changes I'd like to make.

Looks like there are some kind of covers missing just below your rocker push rod tubes?
Oh really? It does look like there are covers missing. Dang! Are they spendy? I did look at my father-in-laws 03 and there are covers there.

Took off the 2-up seat. Bike is running a LOT better now. I kind of wonder if the dealer was running it with the choke on the whole time, no one there seemed familiar with carb'd bikes.

Nice looking bike, you should be able to pick up some pipes and other parts off here, craigslist or eBay pretty cheap.

You will have a blast coming from a Honda. Nice bike. Looks pretty much stock. Have fun modding it to make it your own.

Welcome to the forum.

Looking at your pic it appears that you have stock HD exhaust. Give your baby a Stage 1 upgrade and you will set your motor free. You will need pipes, air box mod and a card tune. You will be surprised at the difference. That is how I bought my first Sporty 2 months ago. (already put over 9000 km's (5500 miles) on it)

I'm getting better than quoted fuel economy, I seem to be quicker than some twin cams I've ridden with and it runs and sounds great. You should look into this.

I do confess that I have not ridden the bike in it's stock form but I do know the upgrade makes a substantial improvement.

Pay the Harley tax...You'll like it.
