Default Harley seat or Le Pera seat

I want to change out the seat on my new 2016 883 iron . Any experiences with the le Pera Bare Bones seat ? My second choice would be Harley's Super Reach seat. Both about the same price. Harley dealer gives me a 10% discount on parts for one year after the purchase of a new bike . Thanks

Those seems tro be tow completly different seats. Extended reach is for short people. While the Le Pera seat seems to put you low and far.

I got the Mustang Wide Touring and couldnt be happier. Removed completely the numbness i felt if i rode at least two hours.

I heard the bare bone is more for looks and does nothing for comfort...I think it is worse than stock since padding is minimal. An option is to go with bolt on solo with springs, scissors, or shocks...http://dkcustomproducts.com/Sportste...stems_c113.htm. There are other vendors that have springer solo seats.

I had a la pera aviator, mustang tripper fastback, and now using a mustang wide tripper solo with backrest. The backrest makes a big difference for my old bones. So it depends on what you are looking for in your seat.

Changed out my stock.'16 seat with a le pera bare bones. Thought I would use the le pera for local riding and change it out to my stock seat for longer trips however...I have felt no need to go back to my stock seat. Love the bare bones! But to each their own!

I have 6 seats for my 48 with an 883 gas tank. 2 roland sands café seats, very comfortable, the boss seat and the avenger, made by mustang. the boss seat is in my signature pic on the bottom. 2 biltwell sporty-8 seats, 1 factory, 1 custom built. very similar to stock, so don't bother if your looking for long ride comfort. a frame on roadhouse leather solo seat that's the same as riding a hardtail, for looks only. and the le pera, stubbs café. very comfortable, have done 300 mile days no problem. also moves up your sitting position from stock.
these are pictures of the le pera stubbs café seat:

I'm also looking for a seat to replace my stock 2014 XL883l. The seat that was recommended to me from HD after trying the Sundowner Demo and it being to long was the "Reduced Reach".
I'm 5'6" and the seats I've tested give no back support because I'm not able to sit back in it properly.

Guessing the Extended Reach isn't the same as Reduced Reach (for short people), it's the reverse.

If your local HD has a Demo, try it for a day. Its the best way to test it out before you buy IMO.

Form or function.

The internet can be of great use to find form.
So many pictures.

Function the OP needs to try the seats.
Body posture, height, weight, "butt" tolerance, OP's handle bar bend.
The internet really can't help in that regard.

I understand some HD dealerships have a loaner seat program.
That could be an option to rule in or out a HD seat.

Good hunting!
