Default something strange happened to me

A strange thing happened to me yesterday. I was out having lunch and when I returned to my scooter there was about a cup of oil under it. I checked the oil level, saw it was low, rode home, about a mile, and parked with a drain pan under it.

This morning I checked the oil level and it didn't even register, the oil was in the drain pan. The plug is still in the drain hose so I guess I will get down, pull the 'worm clamp' and change what is left of the oil.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

See any visible oil anywhere on the bike under there? That's where I would start.

Sounds like the hose is cracked.

Look for the source. Get down and dirty. Put the oil that drained back into the bike and look for where the oil is coming from. Once you locate the leak, you might as well do an oil change instead of just adding Hopefully it is from the drain hose (cracked or loopse clamp).

A loose clamp is what I was thinking. It's possible to have a cracked hose? I haven't looked under the engine, I have physical problems which make seemingly simple things more difficult for me, but I have seen a picture of the underside in the manual.

If it is a cracked hose it seems like it would be major surgery to replace it? Or would it mean cutting out the cracked portion/add a piece of hose?

If it's a cracked hose it's probably means the rest of the hose is probably bad also. Don't splice it. Replace with new. I'd be looking at the other hoses also.

Does anyone know the size of the worm clamp, to avoid trying different sizes? I have looked at the picture in the manual, is the part that might crack the part that seems, from the picture, to go into the bottom of the engine case? If so how is that replaced without tearing apart the engine.

Sorry if these seem stupid questions, but it is difficult for me to get on the ground and crawl around and I would like to know what to expect.

I've had it almost 10 years and have changed oil many times. But things are getting more difficult every year.

Check all of your lines coming off of the bottom of your oil tank (should be four). Any of these could be a culprit if cracked or loose.
