winter project
I'm thinking about sending my heads to Hammer and getting some head work done and putting in some 560 cams and taking it up to 90 horse power this winter. I'm still riding the bike so don't want to tear it down yet but when it gets cold I will do it. Probably should have done it when I went to 1250. I've found out I'm not too old for a good project.

It's fun. I need to get mine on the dyno and dial it in. Cheapo no tach. dyno said 86hp. I'll be triple digits on accident passing someone 2up...oops!
You might hit some hangups getting to 90hp with the reverse dome pistons, but headwork will help either way as the 883 heads choke before redline as is.

from the start so you wouldn't have to pay for pistons twice....
I went the expensive route & bought new XL1200 heads, then had Hammer do their Crush CNC port job on them (big valves, beehive
springs, Ti retains) also with the 30 degree pistons. For my application,
I chose the Jackhammer 570 cam (like the torque down lower)
The whole shebang (big box) showed up yesterday, but I've got quite
a bit of 'life events' happening at the moment with my mother-in-law
so it may take me some time to get it all installed.
Let us know how it all works out.
