Riser swap details for the 06' XL1200C
deadrubberboy, here are some shots and info from the riser swap. I must say, I wish I had an '07 - this would have been a lot easier. I had to hack the wire harnesses for the speedo/ indicator lights, soldering on the pin connector from the old harness to the new. I also ordered the wrong wire extension kit for the bars (ordered for an '07) so I had to cut and splice both controls sets to the switches. had I not had to do the wiring, this really wouldn't have been very tough at all
Here's a list of the parts I used for the riser swap with pricing and source:
Chrome speedo housing 55846-05A, Ebay $88.00
Chrome speedo back cover 67089-05 HD $25.66
Speedo cushion 67104-95 HD $11.95
Front speedo gasket 67121-95A HD $11.95
Wire harness for speedo/ warning lamps 68813-07 HD $70.00
Warning lamp bezel 68513-95A HD $17.11
2 Lamp bezel screws 2325 (had to buy a bag of 5) HD $5.70
2 Speedo screws 2361 HD $1.90
4 speedo bracket screws HD 3210A HD $3.80
Left handlebar clamp 56541-86A
Right handlebar clamp 56542-86A bought as a set, Amazon $37.16
heres a few shots of the process, theres a few pics I wish I would have gotten. Shoulda, woulda, coulda

You're not kidding. But it has been a blast making it my own. I feel like a kid with new toys to play with. Gives me great pride to do this on my own as well. My wife has been a saint with all this, she acts interested when I show her things that ive completed

sweet sound of victory
Got the last of the mods wrapped up last night. Nothing better than hitting that switch and hearing her fire up first shot. seems to have started A LOT faster than it used to. dont know if its from the dynatek coils or the thundervolt wires but she started quick! really pleased with the way it turned out. Took a quick test ride around the block, need a little tweak on the clutch, but other than that it rode great
I think this is my favorite side of the bike now. LOVE the split coil mount and the choke **** in the middle. The Pengel petcock is so smooth, was suprised at how much I liked it for such a small item

Very nicely done! Thanks for letting us follow along and for the part numbers etc. Out of my budget for the time being, so I'll be rocking my C riser for the foreseeable future.
Interesting about the quicker start. I've eyed up the Accel steath coil on plugs a few times. Just can't justify the $ until something with my current setup forces my hand.

Before & After
Finally got to take some pics in the sun for some before and after shots. The Bike handles a lot better now, which is weird since I didn't do any suspension mods ( those are next on the list). Im really pleased with all the parts and manufacturers, Nice not to have any gripes after a project for once.
